Eileen Smith
Eileen Smith was a working performing artist for more than 40 years sharing the stage in operatic, musical theatre, theatrical and clown endeavors including 15 seasons with the Canadian Opera Company, and many seasons at Stratford, Charlottetown, Drayton, and other festivals, and independent theatres, in Canada and the United States. With a parallel career as a singing voice teacher with companies like the Drowsy Chaperone, Lord of the Rings, Charlottetown Festival Young Company, Randolph Academy and other performing arts institutions, 15 seasons supporting artists at the Stratford Festival, Eileen is entering her 11th season as one of the resident singing coaches at the Shaw festival. She maintains a private voice studio in Stratford and Toronto.
Eileen’s career as an artistic producer started in the late 1990’s bringing artists together in Stratford to share their work in a broad range of genres. “We came together to facilitate possibilities for artists to share their work (in all stages of development) in their own hometown, and to offer opportunities for individuals and companies from farther afield to find ways to share the breadth of their artistry.” More than 20 years later Hermione Presents, a collective of multidisciplinary artists, has evolved into SpringWorks, a series of festivals providing a springboard for NewWorks both in person and with our ShortWorks digital festival, in the digital realm. And “World in a Weekend: International Puppet Festival'' our flagship festival, which will present its 4th iteration July 31- August 4, 2025 - where our PuppetWorks! division invites folks of all ages and interests into the magic of imagination and connection.
Eileen Smith will participate in the upcoming Stratford Symphony Orchestra's HMS MOTHER'S DAY concert. This event promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with beloved works by Gilbert and Sullivan, as well as orchestral masterpieces. More info |
