| Launched as a way of connecting young musicians within Stratford and surrounding areas, the SSYO believes in providing a musical education that emphasizes collaboration, music reading & ensemble skills and fun! The SSYO welcomes Strings, Winds, Brass and Percussion to their ensemble, and work to prepare a program for their concert at the end of each term. The SSYO is lucky to have a roster of exceptional coaches that work with students to reach their goals. Coaches will join for both sectionals where they can focus on instrument specific techniques, as well as for tutti rehearsals, where they can help teach important orchestral ensemble skills. | |
The SSYO is one of the newest additions to the education and outreach programs delivered by the Stratford Symphony Orchestra, a professional orchestra of 50 musicians under the direction of Principal Conductor William Rowson. The SSO is very active in Stratford and surrounding areas performing live and filmed concerts; delivering education programs; providing music outreach services; and creating engaging music activities for all ages.
