
Jeffrey Komar, Principal Viola Jeffrey Komar is a highly sought-after violist and chamber musician based in London, Ontario, with an impressive and versatile musical career. He holds multiple advanced degrees in music performance, culminating in the completion of his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Viola Performance at Western University. There, he had the privilege of studying under Sharon Wei, a renowned violist of the New Orford String Quartet. Throughout his career, Jeff has had the opportunity to collaborate with many esteemed artists, including violinist Scott St. John, violinist Annette-Barbara Vogel, and the Juno-award-winning Ensemble Made in Canada piano quartet. In addition to his thriving performance career, Jeff is a dedicated and passionate music educator. He serves as a part-time lecturer in Western University’s Department of Music Education, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of musicians. His commitment to music education extends to the broader community, where he is actively involved with several educational initiatives in London. T hese include El Sistema Aeolian, a program aimed at fostering social change through music, as well as the Forest City String School and Maple & Spruce Music Academy, where he nurtures young talent and helps cultivate a love of music in his students.
